Good Vs. Evil

Hello everyone, it has been almost a year since I last posted. I actually have been working on a project that I am so excited to share with you - but that will have to wait for another time.

I wanted to write today because my heart is grieved and heavy with the world that we live in. After the demonic manslaughter of innocent children in a catholic church, after the brutal murder of a girl who came to America for a better life stabbed to death and left to bleed out with no one taking their time to help and now after the horrific assination of one of our Countries loudest voices of truth and courage, Charlie Kirk, I have no option but to write about this.

How does one’s heart take such evil that goes on now daily? Or does your heart even break or grieve for things like what I just wrote about? Do you stand back in silence, see it and go on to what’s next on your to-do list? Do you shut down due to the overwhelming evil that we are faced with when we watch people cheer someone's death or leave innocent lives left for dead? Do you face the times we are living in or do you hide from them?

Ever since 2020 I have had to fight to face the times we live in. If I am being honest with you, there is a part of me that shuts down when I see so much evil take place. I can’t comprehend it. So I shut down and find different ways to numb my emotions. Food has been a comfort to me in the past. But as the years go on and really since 2020 my dad has told me, “you have to go into the pain”. It has been a fight for me to go into the pain, face the reality we live in and then gear up and choose to do something about it.

The only way I have been able to go into the pain and reality of the times that we are living in is by grounding myself in the Truth, God’s Word. If I didn’t know why evil was growing and darkness was taking over then I should have every reason to run and hide. But if we understand the times we are living in and understand the One who will win and has already won, then you can be equipped and filled with purpose and peace for why you are alive in such days as these. If I don’t go into the pain and face the reality of what this world has come to, then my only other option is to ignore what’s going on, numb my pain and care only about me, myself and I … which I am afraid is what most of us do.

Then it becomes so easy to blame God for what’s going on or to accuse Him of everything that is taking place or run from Him because a God so loving wouldn’t allow such horrific acts of evil. In order to understand the days we live in and make sense and just breathe during these days, we have to know God’s Word.

Listen, what has taken place in just the past two weeks is pure evil. There is no way around it. We live in days that are drowned in deceit and people need to know the Truth. What happened and what has been happening is because of pure evil. It has nothing to do with politics, it has nothing to do with gender, race or anything else. Satan is out to kill and destroy anything and everything that God loves and Who God is. Satan wants to twist the Truth to make good evil and evil good. And he wants to make people zero in on the color of the person or which political party they’re in, in order to take away from the fact that he is the real culprit running wild because he knows his time is short.

We still live in a free country and if every one of us is not standing up and speaking out in the way God has given us to do so then you are just as guilty for sitting in silence! God gave us a second chance to still live in a Country with the freedom of speech and if we are not using it then shame on us. God has given each of us a way to fight. The sad thing is that so much of today we don’t fight. We sit back and stay silent, too afraid to do anything or too self consumed to care. I fear that is the more terrifying fact than all the evil going on around us.

On the flip side, there may be someone out there wondering, “how do I get in the fight? What can I do?” The best advice I can give you is that so much of what we should be doing doesn't look heroic. The best thing and most effective thing we can do is get in God’s Word and know Him. And I mean the Bible. Not devotionals … God’s Word. Period. If you do that you will start understanding the times we live in and He will start drawing you to Him. He will show you how you can fight but seek Him first and then everything else will fall into place. You have to know Him

The other practical thing we can do is pray. Pray for the families who lost their loved ones. Pray for the people who committed such evil - that’s hard for me but they need to pray and they need Jesus. Pray for this country. Pray for the ministries that go on in order to keep the freedom we take for granted. Pray for repentance for this country and the wickedness we have accepted with arms wide open. Pray for your soul … it starts with you. This convicted me so much last year when I realized that repentance starts with me and then goes out to the country and church. It starts with me before God. Then you will be in the fight. It starts with knowing God, His Word and prayer.

Our culture is diluted in depression, anxiety, fear, cowardiceness, perversion, lust, greed, gluttony, jealousy and pride. Innocence is being attacked, Satan is running wild and the church is staying silent. It’s time we call this battle that we are in for what it is … it is the battle against Good and Evil. Satan wants you to forget that so he can keep using his agendas but let us face the realities of our day by getting to the root and that is that this battle we are in is against Good verse Evil. Wake up, stand up and get in the fight. It starts by seeing the battle for what it is and then grounding ourselves in the “Good” which is the Truth which is Jesus Christ Himself. The more you know Him the more clarity you will have in these evil days. Stay sharp and stay alert. The only way to do that though is by grounding yourself in Him

And let me just add this, if you think this blog post is not about recovery or eating disorders - then you are wrong. This blog gets to the very core as to why we suffer and struggle with eating disorders, addictions, mental disorders, suicide and sin. Satan is the creator of such evil and sin is what drives it. This is the root of why we suffer from such things. So in order to recover - we have to see the game for what it really is. Satan is the driver that drives such demonic disorders and such evil, horrific acts of violence that we have seen in just the past two weeks.

The flip side is that the God of the universe is greater than Satan that roams around this world. And He sent His Son to die on the cross for you and for me so that we might have eternal life with Him. If you are a believer in Jesus Christ then you have the victory to overcome and “go into the pain” because you have Jesus leading you every step of the way through. If you do not, then I urge you to know Him today. Come to know Him right now. He is the only One who can take you through such evil days with peace, clarity, freedom, joy, purpose and love.

When you ground yourself in Him and His Word and you get to know Him … then you will have clarity and peace in such evil and deceptive days that we live in. And you will have purpose! People are missing out on such purpose and life as to why they are here because they are too scared or lazy to get engaged in the fight. Look to Him and keep your eyes on your Heavenly Father you will not regret this - I can promise you. He will not only get you home safe and sound but He will be with you every step of the way.
